I did a mini demo about the Big shot as one of my favourite subscriber requested this. She saw my Thank you card video and was inspired to buy a Big shot and the Labels 1 nestabilities I used to make the card.I must say, I was really flattered that my tutorial has actually inspired somebody so much.So thanks Lovzva1 for requesting this:)
I know I took very long to do it but as you already know, there have been stuffs going on .I hope you will find the tutorial helpful even though I rushed through it.In real life, it took me about 4 hours to do it, edit it, upload it....but I had to fast forward part of the video because of my ten mins limit on youtube.
Anyway, the Big shot, for those who do not know, is a die cut machine which is operated by hand. It has its own series of dies such as thick cuts, thin cuts but can take many other dies on the market. The thick cuts will cut cardstock, fabric, lightweight chipboard, felt , funfoam, leather acetate and many more. You can buy the machine in a bundle but it normally comes with a pair of cutting pad and 1 platform.
The extended cuts are normally for 12x12 scrapbook pages. The tag-a-long machine is ideal for this this extended cuts but the Tag-a-long cutting pads and platform will also work in a Big shot to cut long strips of designs , borders..ect.
The Big shot multipurpose platform is designed to help you use your dies, wafer thin ones, thin cuts, to emboss ect very easily. All the information are on the platform itself and I really like this.
The silicone rubber is used when embossing. And if you have the original platform, then you need to use shims, which are couple of sheets of cards together with your wafer thin dies for it to cut and emboss.
Anyway, I hope this mini tutorial has helped you Lozva1 and I do also hope it will help you out there.
If you have any more questions let me know, and if you have anything to add please leave a comment as I would like other crafters to benefit from it too.
The best place I found to buy the above mentioned materials is Cuttingedgecrafts (UK) as it offers free shipping and the prices are great.I have ordered from them and the service is excellent.
Okay that's all from me for today and take care,
